In Memoriam: Allama Syed Asghar Abbas Rizvi (1960-2012)

Born on a serene day in 1960, in the heart of Village Hallaur, Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh, Allama Syed Asghar Abbas Rizvi embarked on a remarkable journey of intellect, compassion, and service to humanity. His life was a testament to the power of knowledge, unity, and the unwavering pursuit of communal harmony. On the 2nd of September 2012, we mourned the untimely departure of this remarkable soul from our midst, as he passed away at Max Balaji Hospital in Delhi, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire us all.

Allama Syed Asghar Abbas Rizvi was a man of many hats, each one worn with grace and distinction. His contributions to society were vast and multifaceted, reflecting his deep commitment to fostering understanding and unity among diverse communities. As the former Director of the Hindi Language Division in the Home Ministry, Government of India, he played a pivotal role in promoting linguistic diversity and cultural understanding within the nation.

Beyond his government service, Allama Rizvi also ventured into the world of business, serving as the Managing Director of Energy India Limited, a notable petroleum company. His professional endeavors showcased his versatility and ability to excel in various domains.

Yet, it was his role as the Managing Trustee of the Ayodhya Jama Masjid Trust that truly underscored his commitment to promoting communal harmony.
