A Girl at a tender age has realized that poverty can come in the way of anyone's dream. Instead of going to school,she makes the rounds of four to five houses each day and takes care of her father, till her mother and elder sister return. Her father has been bedridden for two years now, due to an accident. Since then, life has taken a bitter turn for Her. The only respite in Her life comes from her dream of becoming an air-hostess when she grows up.

Alpsankhyak Vikas Welfare Society as an NGO in India hash so far directly put more than 200 children like her into the path of empowerment through education through its Mission Education programe.

Like Her, there are 17 million children in India working as child labor. At least 62% of the total out-of-school children in India are girls. Last year, 51% of the total beneficiaries of Mission Education programe were girls.
